The Dream

Founded in Philadelphia, PA by a group of passionate individuals with a love for the game, PMBL Camps is an organization committed to positively impacting numerous lives across various communities. Recognizing the transformative power of sports in shaping a child's perception of their potential, we aim to provide a platform where every child, regardless of race or religion, can discover their own capabilities and significance. Inaugurated in 2012, our initial international camp in Treasure Beach, Jamaica has evolved from a small gathering of local youth interested in basketball to a thriving program serving over 1,000 children from diverse regions of Jamaica. With a successful outreach to more than 1,100 participants in 2019, we consider this milestone just the outset of our overarching mission. We eagerly anticipate our return in 2024 for the commemorative 10th Annual Camp. Embracing the ethos of unity and shared aspirations encapsulated in #OneTeamOneDream, PMBL Camps remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering positive change and nurturing young talent on a global scale.

The Program

Basketball is the centerpiece of each camp. Each day begins at 8AM and consists of two sessions. The morning session begins with a free breakfast followed by registration and the campers being divided into two divisions based on age and skill. The remainder of the morning session consists of specific drills focused on basketball fundamentals and other activities including yoga & self-defense. The evening session consists of using the skills learned in the morning session to play competitive games. We are also in the process of incorporating computer literacy & trade skills into the program.

Morning session

Morning sessions begin with breakfast, camper registration, and organizing campers into smaller groups which work with individual coaches to go through various basketball drills.

Evening Session

Evening sessions begin with various shooting, passing, and dribbling competitions. Coaches spend time with individual campers for 1-0n-1 instructions.

yoga & Self-defense

Our goal is to instill in each camper the courage and confidence to believe in themselves. As such, we have incorporated yoga and self-defense as key stations during camp.

Computer Literacy & Trade Skills

Along with basketball, we also want to lay the foundation for our campers to learn basic computer and woodworking skills. This is a key area of development for us at Friends Of The PMBL.

#OneTeamOneDream

We believe in the value of teamwork; of dreaming bigger and greater dreams; of understanding that the whole can be so much greater than the sum of its parts; of knowing that you can change yourself and your community if you work as one team with one dream. We believe that each child, irrespective of race or religion, needs to know just how powerful they truly are. We hope to serve as catalysts that enable the next generation to change the world.

Get Involved

The only way we can serve children from Philadelphia or the Caribbean is because of you. Every single dollar we raise goes directly into buying food, shoes, and clothes for kids along with camp logistics. With your help, we want to use sports to help kids all across the world.

MOnetary Donation

The easiest way you can help is through a monetary donation.

Material Donations

Outside of monetary donations, we also welcome gifts for kids. Items of interest include: new shoes, new clothes, basketballs, laptops, etcetera.

An Introduction

If you think there is anyone who may be interested in getting involved, we would love an introduction.

I love you, Coach.
